Just laying digital print over a wooden panel is not difficult task itself. Couple of questions from our audience:
1. Is this digitally printed polymer foil?
No, our product is NOT foil. Our product is DIRECT PRINT over wooden based panels or mf boards.
2. How long is it going to last in a kitchen that is used daily heavily? Is the surface heat resistant, cleaning chemicals resistant and/or degreasers resistant?
As every furniture product it depends on how you use it in your daily activities. You should not cut it on purpose or use metal to scratch the surface , as all furniture products this is going to do a damage and will diminish the beauty of this product. We also do not recommend to put kitchen utensil which is hot directly on the surface, for example pots or pans are not recommended to be put directly after cooking and being hot. As you know all your kitchen surfaces might lose brightness or gloss after directly impacted by heated kitchen utensil. It is important to note that our surface is treated with speacial varnishes that are nonflammable (it cannot cause direct fire). You can clean after cooking with all types of cleansing agents that are recommended for home or kitchen use. As all your furniture items at home if you treat them well and as recommended - our product will also last many years.
3. Is the surface smooth or what should I expect from the surface finish?
The materials we use for fnishing our products are high quality varnishes which are industrial type and use for mass production of wooden panel boards. The finishing touches are adding smooth surface and feel - for "semi-gloss" type we use glossiness of 10%, then "gloss" is 60% which is the standard for the Furniture Industry.
4. How to install the product at home?
As you would normally put all convencional products. You can cut its lenght, change its hight as the more simple backsplash products. Your craftsman that assembles your kitchen can do everything needed to install our backsplash as with each furniture similar product. For example: your craftsman can use his machines to drill holes for sink and faucets, etc. simply install properly your kitchen back.
5. How it resists humidity?
Our kitchen backsplashes Printissimo are effectively protected from moisture and humidity - from its face side : the print is lacquered effectively and fully on 100%, from the back side it is as a normal wooden panel or mf board.
If you change the lenght,hight, etc or drill holes in our product - of course you need to finish your installation properly so those modifications are protected. However, this is the job of your craftsman that needs to do additional work to finish his activities. As all kitchen backsplashes , when you install them you need to finish the installation with moldings and lines so that your work is done properly, please consult with a furniture master if you do this yourself for a first time. We suggest using moisture-resistant aluminum strip - that will protect your corners from humidity or steam from cooking in your kitchen.
6. How to install Printissimo products on the wall?
Simple questions require simple answers - as you would normally install other mass produced kitchen backsplashes. It is attached: to the countertop by a waterproof strip, to the wall with suitable sillicone or glue.
